I am grateful for evenings with like-minded folks on Facebook and writing and reviewing memoir with my writing group on Big Tent. I am grateful my son is doing well/good in Haiti.
I am grateful for my writing group that forces me to do something! I am grateful for grazing in the garden on kumquats, heirloom tomatoes, and those sweet little orange tomatoes, before dinner.
I am grateful for a morning of watching birds and their young, especially the daddy oriole feeding his baby and the usual ruckus at the hummingbird feeders. (I have 8 hummingbird feeders and some of them are being refilled every other day–who else goes to Costco just for sugar –which I don’t eat). So far there have been nibbles at the tomatoes, but not wholesale destruction since I removed the netting. I am grateful for rain that is helping the containment of the wildfires. I am grateful for meeting friends of the late Nash Williams in Fallbrook. He was an amazing man.
I am grateful for friends who share their home and deck so we could enjoy the Glenn Miller Story and yummy food brought by their other friends. Grateful I got rid of netting over my veggie garden today so I will not be responsible for it hurting wildlife. Grateful for my waiting bed.
I am grateful for fun new and old friends. I am grateful Tassajara is safe from fire (so far). I am grateful for the weekend and plan to sleep in tomorrow. I look forward to cleaning up my den so I can spread out and write. I will remove netting from my garden as soon as I awaken tomorrow and am grateful to the poor little snake that got tangled in it and died for showing me why it needs to be removed. May it be free from suffering and may I get it removed before any other creature suffers.
I am grateful for the abundance in my garden. I am grateful for good friends.
I am grateful for a day to catch up tomorrow. I am grateful the fire did not burn Zen Mountain Center and hope Tassajara is ok. I am grateful for warm summer nights.
I am grateful for being able to do yoga and meditate today. I am grateful for summer fruits and veggies. I am grateful for beautiful days and nights and no need for the air conditioner. I am grateful the Chariot fire missed the main lodge at Foster Lodge and the Mountain Fire missed Zen Mountain Center.
I am grateful for a quiet evening of catching up topped with a salt caramel gelato bar dipped in very dark chocolate. Miss the kids, but enjoying the solitude.
I am grateful for a day of solitude with yoga and meditation. Filled all the hummingbird feeders and the finch feeder, did laundry, ate leftovers, started going through a lot of Mom’s stuff. Finding homes in different rooms for items that remind me of her. Looking forward to work tomorrow, but miss kids and grand kids.
