I am grateful for a neighbor who does healing touch when I am sick.  I am grateful for extra sleep today.

I am grateful for a day of getting up late, doing yoga and meditation, talking to my son in Kansas, having dinner and gathering provisions at People’s Co-op, and checking in with my ModPo group on Coursera and my friends on Facebook.  Time to sleep.

I am grateful that it just seemed like a lot of blood and that a crack on the scalp can be glued together without the need for stitches or staples.  (I am grateful I was just a little shook up.)  I am grateful for Desiree who took me to Sharp Grossmont and for Melody who got me back to my car.  I am grateful for the speedy efficient team that got me in and out of ER quickly.  I am grateful for the opportunity to sit back at home and watch the Wavy Gravy documentary, Saint Misbehaving. I am grateful for the leftovers in the fridge and for email, facebook, and Modpo (Coursera poetry class)  time to express my indignation at all those who would cut food stamps for the poor while they eat their $200 dinners and at those who would shut down our government to deprive people of their right to health.  Ok–Bumps on heads can make me even more of a curmudgeon.   I am grateful for understanding readers.

I am grateful for an exciting/goofy community of MOOC folks as we explore poetry.  I am also grateful for my Star Trek class and dinner with a good friend.  Life is good, but somehow I need more hours.

I am grateful for a wonderful weekend with my grandson, Nathan.  Almost 9, he wrote me a story on the computer,  shared a wonderful movie (Up) at a my friends’ house.  Was polite to our hosts and at the restaurants we ate at and wanted to be sure the servers received good tips.  We picked apples in Julian and he selected a special one for each family member. He loves to read and is memorizing a poem for me.  Will fall asleep with a smile tonight!

I am grateful that I finally got to see an ENT doc who did see something in a way back sinus.  I haven’t been imagining that awful feeling.  I am grateful the A/C is fixed.  I am grateful I had a wonderful lunch with my daughter at Swami’s in La Mesa.  I am grateful for a fun Star Trek class that looks at the social context of the era.  I am grateful for a yummy dinner with friends at Haritna Restaurant.  I will probably not be so grateful that I am getting to bed this late on a workday!  (But love keeping up with my FB friends!)

I am grateful for a pleasant day and for almost getting my desk cleared off.

I am grateful for a catch-up day even though my den looks more like a hurricane hit it than it did when I started.

I am grateful I got out of my comfort zone and had a glorious day with a bunch of singer/song writer/acoustic guitar players who are way better than I am.  I am also grateful for a fun movie on a warm (but not uncomfortable) evening on some friends’ deck.  Life is good.

I am grateful for the joy of watching 2 of my former premedical students don their white coats as they enter UCSD medical school.
