12/30/13 Gratitude Journal

I am grateful my son in Kansas is safe and sound after his car hit a drive shaft from a semi on the turnpike and blew some tires about an hour ago.  I am grateful for 21 years working at SDSU, and my wonderful students who keep in touch.  I am grateful, as I think back fondly to my happy days at SDSU, that a new door is opening. I look forward to starting out on new adventures, even as I feel a little fear and uncertainty. I am healthy. Traveling, writing, gardening, hiking, singing and meeting new friends all lie ahead. But I also look forward to maintaining and deepening current friendships over the years.  For those friendships, I am truly grateful.
